Muhammara Red Capsicum Dip

Muhammara is a delicious Middle Eastern dish. It’s a red capsicum dip that can be enjoyed with pita bread or eaten with other Middle Eastern style dishes.

Ingredients

  • 3 large red capsicums

  • 3/4 cup walnuts

  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes

  • 2 tbs pomegranate molasses

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 tbs lemon juice

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1 tbs olive oil

Chop the heads off the capsicums and slice in half. Place on a lined baking dish and roast on high heat until tender. Allow to cool.

To a food processor, add the roasted capsicum and walnuts. Blend well. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. 

Serve with pita bread or add to your Mediterranean dishes. Enjoy!
